Application:
This product is designed to smooth and straighten naturally curly
or wavy hair without harsh chemicals, heavy oils or searing flat irons that can
damage the hair.
Formula Procedure
Weigh A into vessel. Turn mixer on high to create a vortex in the
water. Sprinkle/sift B into the vortex of A. Allow product to mix for 20–30 min
or until hydrated (no lumps, barely visible in the system). Heat to 70–75ºC.
Slowly add C to AB. Mix for approximately 5 min. Add D to batch. Combine E in a
separate vessel. Heat slowly to liquefy (70–75ºC). Once E has liquefied, slowly
add E into batch. The batch should be approximately the same temperature
(70–75ºC) as E. Allow the product to mix for approximately 5 min. Check product
for solidified flakes of material. If flakes are visible, continue mixing for
10–15 min. Remove heat. Before product cools, neutralize to pH 6.8–72 using F.
*Note: Do not proceed to the next step until the product in the mixing vessel
is at or below 40ºC. Add G to batch. Mix for 10–25 min. Cool to RT before
packaging.
